Cambodian Consulate in Vietnam Intervenes to Return 18 Nationals

Phnom Penh: The Cambodian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, has coordinated with city authorities to repatriate 18 Cambodians who had crossed the border illegally to find work in the city. All 18 were sent back on Wednesday.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Koy Kuong, confirmed that before leaving, all had been tested for Covid-19 and all had tested negative. The Consulate General also provided transport and escorted them to the Bavet International Border in Svay Rieng Province, also providing water and lunch and arranging quarantine for them on the Cambodian side of the border.
